On Thursday she will teach how to make a Tree Table Runner. This 15x38 inch runner is a quick and easy appliqué project that can be adapted for any season. The trees are strip-pieced then cut and machine appliquéd onto a background. Add batting and a back before quilting on your domestic sewing machine. Just turn the backing fabric to the front for a super easy binding. Embellish as desired. Skills: Strip piecing, machine appliqué, quilting on you domestic sewing machine, easy flip binding. (Fabrics in the photo will not be the fabrics in the kit.)
The full class fee of $40 is due at time of registration. The $30 supplies fee is payable to Kim on the day of the class.
Number of Students: 1 minimum, 10 maximum.
Skill level: All skill levels are welcome.
Tools needed for any of the projects: Sewing machine -
Straight and zig-zag or blanket stitch for Tree Table Runner.
Rotary Cutter; small cutting mat (if you have one); clear quilting ruler with 1/4 inch markings (12 inches long would be great); Fabric marking pen or chalk; pins; extra sewing machine needles; hand sewing needle; seam ripper; grey sewing thread (Grey blends with most everything. If you like to match bring an assortment of colors.); sewing scissors; water soluble glue stick (for Kokeshi and Cranes project only).
