Vic Hood is an award-winning realistic human bust carver. He has won top awards in various competitions throughout the country including BEST OF SHOW at the largest competitions in the United States. He is the author of three books on carving and was Woodcarving Illustrated’s Carver of the Year in 2011.
This is a rare opportunity to participate in an in-depth seven-day class designed to encourage the students to create their own piece of art. There will be a strong emphasis on design, creativity, and technical execution. The structure of the class allows for beginners as well as accomplished carvers. Please bring photos along of what you’d like to carve. There will be several models available for the students who are not sure what they want to carve and need them for direction or ideas.
The full 7-day class fee of $450 is due at time of registration. Cost of the blank will be payable to Vic on the day of the class.
Number of students: 12 maximum. This is open to carvers of all skill levels.
Tools needed: Knife, gouges, v-tools
