Beginning Caricature Carving

While anyone can take this class, it is designed for beginners or carvers who are just getting started in the art of caricature woodcarving. Gregg will teach the Ozark Flat Plane style. Students will complete at least one project during the 5 days of class and will have time to start another, including your choice of Santa Bear, Farmer caricature, Gnome, etc. Paints and finishing supplies will be provided for the projects at no additional cost to the student.
Tools: Please bring QUALITY carving tools that are SHARP and ready to carve. If you don’t have your tools, all tools will be available for purchase at class. Why not let your instructors help you get good tools? All students are required to wear a safety glove, which will also be available. Bring auxiliary lighting if you have it.
The class fee of $60/day is due at registration. The first blank is free. Additional blanks will be available and payable to Gregg on the day of the class. Paints and finishing supplies will be provided for the projects at no additional cost to the student.
Number of students: 4 minimum; 12 maximum.
