Kim Clarke Beginning Crochet, SA
This is Kim’s second year as an Instructor at Creede Woodcarvers Rendezvous. Kim learned to crochet from her mom when she was nine or ten and wanted to make things as gifts for her friends. She continued crocheting in 4H and loves to pet yarn and make pretty things.
BEGINNING CROCHET, The art of crochet is making a big comeback! Join me to learn how to make one of the most popular, enduring, and versatile crochet patterns, the granny square. Use single squares as coasters, sew several together to make projects like scarves, bags, and afghans. We will begin by learning the basic crochet stitches, chain, single, half double, double, and triple crochet. Once you are comfortable with those, we will learn to follow written directions as well as charts to make traditional granny squares in single and multiple colors. From there I will have several different granny square patterns for you to try. We will learn to change colors, sew squares together, and work in the ends.
The class fee covers instruction for the whole day and a crochet hook. Each square you make will cost just .40 cents.
Want more instruction time? At the rendezvous you will be able to sign up for extra instruction time in half day increments for $30.
The full class fee of $60 is due at time of registration. Cost of materials is 40 cents per square and is payable to Kim on the day of the class.
Number of Students: 1 minimum, 5 maximum.
Skill level: Beginners
Questions may be directed to Kim at [email protected], or calling (she prefers texting) her at 801-721-5828.
