Aaron Mayer 5a-b, 2-day class, SA 7/8-SU 7/9
This will be Aaron’s 3rd year teaching at Creede. He and his brother, Andy, co-authored an article in the Spring 2020 issue of Woodcarving Illustrated entitled “Simple Holiday Houses.” Look for another project article in a 2023 issue of the magazine. Aaron will teach how to carve the treehouse out of two pieces of cottonwood bark and then show techniques on how to meld them to a piece of found wood that will be the tree trunk.
Fee: The full 2-day class fee of $100 is due at time of registration. Cost of the cottonwood bark, $25, is payable to Aaron on the day of the class.
Number of students: 4 minimum and 8 maximum. This is open to carvers of all skill levels.
Tools needed: Carving knife; small v-tool; #1 chisel 1/8”; #7 gouge or comparable; pin vice with small drill bits; a needle file set (which may be purchased from Aaron)
