Woodspirit in Bark

Alec is new to Creede Woodcarving Rendezvous. He has been instructing realistic faces in bark for the last eight years and has helped hundreds of students. His mysterious, whimsical look is fun to carve and sure to impress. You will learn to get realistic human features in bark, carve hair, Jewelry and clothing. Some of his students are now professional carvers and are selling and teaching. He is a contributor to Woodcarving Illustrated his last contribution was Issue 87 (Summer 2019), he is also on the cover of the same issue. He is a regular guest at the Detroit Institute of Art’s “Think like an Artist” exhibit, and a teacher of workshops all over the United States.
The class fee for this class is $225 and the blank is $35. The class size will be minimum 8 students and maximum 16 students at Intermediate skill levels.
Tools suggested for all three classes:
2-2” spring clamps to hold backerboard to easel, 2-6 in bar clamps or ”C” clamps, #4x25mm Gouge, #11x4mm Veiner, #9-6mm Gouge, #9-16mm Gouge, #47-4mm V-tool, 1-1.25 bench or detail Knife, #10-3mm Veiner, #11-2mm Veiner, 220 and 320 sandpaper, 8x11 standard (or larger) notepad
